Hi, I'm Katey!

I've been the pastor at Boone Memorial Presbyterian Church since December 2018, and I love being a part of this warm, welcoming family!

I grew up in Upstate NY (Rochester) and moved all around the Northeast before winding up in Western Idaho in 2015. My favorite part of living in Idaho is the climate (no more shoveling 3 feet of snow every week!) but the friendliness of the people is a close second 😉

I earned my B.A. at Middlebury College (Middlebury, VT). I intended to be an English major, but I somehow left with a Religion major—go figure! I attended seminary at Boston University School of Theology (Boston, MA) and earned my M.Div. in 2013 (yes, this is a Methodist school, but it just reinforced my Reformed theological identity!). Although I'm Presbyterian to my core, I have a heart for ecumenical conversations and cooperation. I was ordained as a Teaching Elder (Minister of Word and Sacrament/Pastor) on Palm Sunday, 2014 (April 13).

Pastor Katey and Murray, a.k.a. "Office Dog"

I currently live in West Boise with my husband, Nick, our two dogs (Murray & Maya) and two cats (Penn & Teller). I have a (not so) secret passion for musical theater, and I love crafting and reading. Come visit me during my office hours!

Pastor Katey's Blog

I post the text and audio for all my sermons on my blog, as well as the occasional theological thought that I want to share.
